What Does Sink Installation Cost in Las Vegas?

Sink installation labor in Las Vegas typically costs between $200 and $500 depending on the sink type, location, and whether new supply lines, shutoff valves, drain assembly, or garbage disposal connections are included. A standard drop-in bathroom or kitchen sink replacement at an existing location runs $200 to $300 in labor. Undermount sinks take longer to seat and seal properly and typically run $250 to $400. Farmhouse apron sinks that require cabinet modification before the sink drops in run $300 to $500 in labor alone. Pedestal and vessel sinks run $200 to $350 depending on rough-in conditions and wall connections required. These labor costs do not include the sink itself. We supply and install, or install yours — either way works.

The price depends on several factors:

  • Sink type and mounting method (undermount, drop-in, farmhouse, vessel, pedestal, wall-mount)
  • Whether the installation is a like-for-like replacement or a new configuration requiring plumbing modifications
  • Condition of existing supply lines, shutoff valves, and drain connections
  • Whether a garbage disposal connection is being added or reconnected
  • Countertop material — granite and stone require silicone sealant and more careful handling than laminate
  • Whether we supply the sink or you provide your own

Signs It Is Time to Replace Your Sink in Las Vegas

Las Vegas hard water at 280 to 290 PPM leaves its mark on every sink in the home. Calcium and mineral deposits stain, pit, and discolor sink basins over time. These are the signs that a new sink installation makes more sense than another round of repairs or cleaning:

  • Permanent mineral staining that no cleaner removes — Las Vegas hard water deposits calcium and iron staining in porous sink materials, around drains, and along the basin walls. Once mineral staining is etched into the surface, it does not clean out. This is the most common cosmetic reason for sink replacement in Las Vegas
  • Cracks in the sink basin — a cracked porcelain, ceramic, or composite sink cannot be reliably sealed long-term. Water migrates through cracks into the cabinet below and causes progressive wood damage, mold, and structural deterioration
  • Persistent leaks at the drain or strainer — if the drain assembly has been reseated multiple times and still leaks, the sink basin itself may have a warped or pitted drain opening that prevents a reliable seal. Replacement resolves this permanently
  • You are replacing the countertop or vanity — a countertop replacement almost always means a sink swap as well. Drop-in sinks are typically sized and cut for the existing top. Undermount sinks are bonded directly to the underside of the stone. When the top goes, the sink goes with it
  • You are upgrading sink configuration — upgrading from a single-bowl to a double-bowl kitchen sink, from a drop-in to an undermount, or from a standard vanity sink to a vessel requires a new installation rather than a repair
  • The cabinet under the sink shows water damage or mold — this is downstream evidence of a slow leak that has been ongoing long enough to damage the structure. Addressing it requires replacing the sink and drain assembly and repairing the cabinet floor
  • You are adding a sink in a new location — utility rooms, garages, bar areas, and outdoor kitchens where no sink previously existed require full new rough-in connections to the supply and drain system

Las Vegas Homeowner Tip: If you are replacing a sink because of mineral staining, choose your new material carefully. Stainless steel and composite granite sinks resist mineral staining significantly better than porcelain and white ceramic in Las Vegas's hard water environment. We will mention this during the install if the material you have chosen is particularly vulnerable in our water conditions.

How Royalty Plumbing Handles Sink Installation in Las Vegas

  • Step 1 — Assessment and Parts Confirmation

We assess the existing sink location, check supply line and shutoff valve condition, confirm drain rough-in dimensions, and verify the new sink is compatible with the existing countertop opening or cabinet configuration. For remodel installs where no sink exists yet, we confirm the supply and drain rough-in locations are in the right position before the countertop is set. Catching misaligned rough-in before the stone is cut is far less expensive than after.

  • Step 2 — Shutoff and Removal

We shut off the supply at the angle stops, disconnect the supply lines and drain, remove the existing sink, and clean the mounting surface. On undermount sinks bonded to stone countertops, removal requires careful work to avoid cracking the countertop at the cutout edge. We inspect the condition of the shutoff valves and supply lines during removal and let you know immediately if they need replacement while the water is already off.

  • Step 3 — Installation and Connection

We install the new sink using the correct method for its type — silicone sealant and mounting clips for undermount on stone, plumber's putty or silicone for drop-in, wall anchors and supply risers for pedestal, and proper base support for vessel sinks on hollow surfaces. We install a new drain assembly and p-trap, connect new supply lines, reconnect or install the garbage disposal if applicable, and verify all connections are tight and properly supported.

  • Step 4 — Test and Confirm

We restore water supply, run water through the sink, check every connection under the sink for drips, verify drain flow and p-trap seal, test the garbage disposal if installed, and clean up the workspace completely. You inspect the installation before we leave. If anything is not right, we address it on the spot before we pack up.

Every Sink Type We Install in Las Vegas — Kitchen, Bathroom, and Beyond

Undermount Sink
The undermount is the most popular kitchen sink upgrade in Las Vegas remodels. It mounts below the countertop surface, creating a seamless edge that makes wiping crumbs directly into the sink easy and eliminates the rim crevice that collects mineral deposits on drop-in sinks. Undermount installation requires bonding the sink to the underside of the stone or solid surface countertop with silicone adhesive, which must be applied correctly to prevent the heavy sink from separating from the stone over time. Incorrect undermount installation is one of the most common call-back issues we see from DIY attempts and plumbers who rush the process. We take the time to prep, bond, and support the sink correctly.
Best for: Kitchen remodels with granite, quartz, or solid surface countertops, and bathroom vanities where a clean seamless look is the goal.
Typical labor cost: $250 to $400 for a standard undermount kitchen or bathroom sink.

Drop-In Sink
The drop-in sink sits in a cutout in the countertop with its rim resting on the surface. It is the most common existing sink configuration in Las Vegas homes and the fastest replacement when the opening size matches the new sink. Drop-in installation requires a seal between the rim and the countertop to prevent water from migrating underneath. In Las Vegas, that seal deteriorates faster on laminate countertops due to the combination of hard water mineral deposits and the daily temperature swings of a desert climate. We use the correct sealant for the countertop material on every drop-in install.
Best for: Like-for-like kitchen or bathroom sink replacements, laminate countertops, and any situation where a quick clean installation is the priority.
Typical labor cost: $200 to $300 for a standard drop-in kitchen or bathroom sink replacement.

Farmhouse and Apron Sink
Farmhouse sinks are large, deep, single or double-basin sinks with an exposed front apron that extends to the cabinet face. They are one of the most requested kitchen upgrades we install in Las Vegas — and one of the most commonly underestimated for installation complexity. A farmhouse sink almost always requires cabinet modification before the sink can be seated. The base cabinet must be cut down at the front to accommodate the apron depth, and the sink base support must be reinforced to carry the weight of a large cast iron or fireclay sink. We confirm cabinet compatibility and modification requirements before the sink is purchased to avoid costly surprises.
Best for: Kitchen remodels where the base cabinet is being updated, homeowners who want maximum basin depth for large pots and sheet pans, and any kitchen where the farmhouse aesthetic is the design direction.
Typical labor cost: $300 to $500 depending on cabinet modification required.

Vessel Sink
A vessel sink sits on top of the vanity counter rather than being recessed into it. Installation requires a counter with a drain hole at the correct position, a tall vessel faucet with sufficient height to clear the sink rim, and a pop-up drain assembly compatible with the vessel configuration. We confirm faucet height compatibility and drain position before installing — mismatched faucet height is the most common vessel sink installation error.
Best for: Bathroom vanity upgrades, powder rooms, and any bathroom where the vessel sink is a design focal point.
Typical labor cost: $200 to $350 depending on faucet connection and drain configuration required.

Pedestal Sink
A pedestal sink consists of a wall-mounted basin resting on a freestanding pedestal column. Installation requires securing the basin to the wall at the correct height, connecting supply lines through or behind the pedestal, and making sure the pedestal is properly aligned and stable under the weight of the basin. Supply connections are visible behind the pedestal rather than concealed in a cabinet, which makes proper material selection for the supply lines and shutoff valves important from an appearance standpoint.
Best for: Small bathrooms, powder rooms, and half-baths where floor space and open visual flow are priorities.
Typical labor cost: $200 to $325 depending on wall connection requirements.

Wall-Mount Sink
A wall-mount sink is suspended directly from the wall with no pedestal or cabinet underneath. Installation requires secure attachment to wall studs or a properly reinforced backing panel — the sink must support its own weight and the weight applied during use entirely from the wall connection. We confirm wall structure before installation and install proper backing if the existing wall does not have adequate support.
Best for: ADA-accessible bathrooms, modern design applications, and spaces where maximizing floor clearance is a priority.
Typical labor cost: $250 to $400 depending on wall reinforcement required.

Utility and Laundry Sink
Utility sinks — also called laundry tubs or mop sinks — are installed in laundry rooms, garages, and utility spaces. They require supply connections for hot and cold water and a drain connection to the home's waste system. For new utility sink installations where no sink previously existed, we run new supply lines and tie into the nearest drain stack or existing drain line.
Best for: Laundry rooms, garages, workshop areas, and any utility space that needs a dedicated water source.
Typical labor cost: $250 to $450 for a new utility sink installation depending on supply and drain run required.

What Affects the Cost of Sink Installation in Las Vegas?

We do not post flat rates because sink installation jobs vary significantly based on the sink type, countertop material, existing plumbing condition, and whether additional work is needed alongside the installation. Here is what moves the number:

Sink Type and Mounting Method

Undermount sinks require more precise fitting, bonding, and support than drop-in sinks. Farmhouse sinks almost always require cabinet modification. Pedestal and wall-mount sinks require proper structural connections to the wall. The mounting method is the primary driver of labor time and therefore labor cost.

Like-for-Like Replacement Versus New Configuration

Replacing a drop-in with another drop-in of the same size at an existing location is the simplest scenario. Switching from drop-in to undermount, adding a sink where none existed, or changing from a single to double basin requires additional work — countertop modification, new drain rough-in, or new supply connections — that adds to the total.

Countertop Material

Granite, quartz, and solid surface countertops require careful handling to avoid cracking during sink removal or installation. The correct sealant and bonding agents for stone are different from those used on laminate, and the process takes more time. We treat every stone countertop as a significant asset to protect — because in Las Vegas, a cracked granite countertop is an expensive problem.

Supply Lines and Shutoff Valve Condition

We inspect the shutoff valves and supply lines at every sink installation. In Las Vegas, corroded angle stops and aged flexible supply lines are common regardless of home age — hard water accelerates corrosion on metal fittings. Replacement adds $50 to $150 to the job and is almost always worth it while the water is already off. We quote any add-ons before proceeding.

Garbage Disposal Connection

If the new sink includes or replaces a garbage disposal connection, we reinstall, connect, and test it as part of the installation. If a garbage disposal is being added for the first time, we run the electrical connection coordination (we do the plumbing side — if new electrical is needed, you will need an electrician for that portion).

Drain Assembly and P-Trap

Every new sink installation includes a new drain assembly and p-trap. In Las Vegas, we use PVC p-traps rather than chrome ABS on all new drain connections — PVC is significantly more resistant to the mineral scaling and chemical interaction that Las Vegas hard water causes in drain assemblies over time.

Remodel Coordination Tip: If you are installing a new sink as part of a kitchen or bathroom remodel, call us before the countertop is cut or set. The plumber needs to confirm supply and drain rough-in locations are correct before the stone fabricator cuts the opening. Moving a drain rough-in after a countertop is set is an expensive, disruptive correction — confirming it takes 15 minutes before the stone arrives.

"The bathroom sink started to leak underneath. I tried everything that I know how to do to fix it, to no avail. I called Royalty Plumbing and they were able to have technician here the next day. It was a simple fix but unless you have that knowledge, you just wouldn’t know how to do it. The price was good, and the service man was friendly and quick! No mess left behind! This sink was installed about a year ago by another “plumber,” who didn’t do a very good job."

Frequently Asked Questions About Sink Installation in Las Vegas

Expert answers to help you make informed decisions

Sink installation labor in Las Vegas typically runs $200 to $300 for a standard drop-in kitchen or bathroom sink replacement. Undermount sinks run $250 to $400. Farmhouse sinks that require cabinet modification run $300 to $500 in labor. Pedestal and vessel sinks run $200 to $350. New supply lines and shutoff valves, if needed, add $50 to $150. These costs do not include the sink itself. We provide exact pricing after assessing your specific installation.
A drop-in sink rests in a countertop cutout with its rim sitting on the surface. Installation is faster and works on any countertop material. An undermount sink mounts below the countertop, bonded to the underside of the stone, creating a seamless edge with no rim. Undermount installation requires stone or solid surface countertops, correct silicone bonding technique, and adequate support to prevent the heavy sink from separating from the stone over time. Undermount installs take longer and cost more in labor, but the result is cleaner, easier to wipe down, and more durable in Las Vegas's hard water environment because there is no rim crevice for mineral scale to accumulate.
We do not require you to be present for the entire installation, but we do need access to the water shutoff for the home or the specific supply shutoffs under the sink. We also recommend you inspect the final installation before we leave so any questions can be answered and anything you want adjusted can be done while we are still on site.
Yes. We install customer-supplied sinks at the same labor rate with no markup. If you want us to supply the sink, we can source appropriate models and include the cost transparently in the quote. One benefit of having us supply the sink is that we verify the configuration — hole count, spread, basin depth, and drain position — is compatible with your existing countertop and cabinet before purchasing.
A standard drop-in kitchen or bathroom sink replacement takes 1 to 2 hours in most cases. Undermount installations run 1.5 to 3 hours depending on countertop bonding and support requirements. Farmhouse sink installations with cabinet modification take 2 to 4 hours. New utility or laundry sink installations requiring new supply and drain connections take 2 to 4 hours. We provide a time estimate when we quote your job.
Stainless steel and composite granite sinks resist mineral staining significantly better than white porcelain and ceramic in Las Vegas's 280 to 290 PPM hard water environment. Stainless steel does show water spots more visibly, but those wipe off easily — they do not etch into the surface the way mineral staining does on porous materials. Composite granite has the best long-term resistance to both staining and scratching for a Las Vegas kitchen. White porcelain and ceramic look beautiful when new but require more consistent maintenance to prevent permanent mineral discoloration in our water conditions.
Yes. We disconnect the existing disposal, remove it with the old sink, and reconnect it to the new drain assembly as part of the installation. If the disposal is old or failing, we let you know during the installation — replacing it at the same time while everything is already disconnected is the most efficient approach.
Yes, in most cases. Adding a new sink in a utility room, garage, laundry room, or wet bar requires running new supply lines from the nearest connection point and tying the drain into the nearest drain stack or existing drain line. We assess the run length and access requirements before quoting. For new construction or major remodels, we coordinate timing with other trades to make sure rough-in is completed before walls and cabinets are closed.
Like-for-like sink replacements at an existing location — same position, same drain and supply connections — generally do not require a permit in Las Vegas. Adding a sink in a new location or rerouting drain connections requires a plumbing permit from the City of Las Vegas or Clark County. We will confirm whether your specific project requires a permit when we assess the job and pull it on your behalf if needed.
Clear out everything under the sink — cleaning products, trash cans, and any stored items. If you have already purchased the sink, have it at the installation location before we arrive. If the installation is part of a remodel and the countertop is new stone, confirm with your countertop installer that the opening has been cut and the top is set before scheduling the plumbing connection. If you have not yet purchased the sink and want our input on materials or configuration, call us before buying — a quick conversation can prevent a return trip due to incompatible hole spacing or drain position.
